When will the £4.25 vouchers start being used in stores?
Beneficiaries will begin receiving vouchers from April 2021 and they will be able to use them immediately after receiving them.
Can beneficiaries use both £3.10 and £4.25 vouchers for the same transaction?
Yes, if the beneficiaries’ £3.10 voucher(s) are still valid they can use these alongside the newer £4.25 vouchers.
Are there any changes to the food items people can buy?
No. However, as of 1 October 2020 we introduced the ability to use Healthy Start food vouchers to purchase:
- tinned fruit and vegetables
- fresh, dried, or tinned pulses that are free from added fat, salt, sugar, or flavourings
Will the voucher value be changing in Wales and Northern Ireland?
Yes, the voucher value increase will cover England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
Will there be any changes to the reimbursement process?
No, the way you claim and receive reimbursement will remain the same.
Can I send £3.10 and £4.25 vouchers in for reimbursement at the same time?
Yes, you can submit Healthy Start food vouchers all together as one claim. When the HSRU scan each voucher, the process and data validation will capture the URN which is linked to the voucher value. This will calculate the correct value for reimbursement.
